This soundtrack to Luc BessonΓÇÖs latest film was put together by Robert Del Naja and his current collaborator, Neil Davidge (the same cut-down version of Massive Attack that made 100th Window), and enables them to demonstrate their musical versatility: fast and menacing (Atta Boy), slow and menacing (P Is for Piano) and jazzy and menacing (Polaroid Girl). Nah, IΓÇÖm joking. In fact, after the samey 100th Window, Danny the Dog reveals a perhaps unexpected versatility to Massive Attack. There is the pretty and mournful Sam, the son-of-John-Barry One Thought at a Time, the Enoesque Red Light Means Go, the twisted nursery-rhyme ambience of YouΓÇÖve Never Had a Dream, and even a touch of Harold Budd on Right Way to Hold a Spoon. Some of these are so intriguing that youΓÇ¥ll wish they were explored at greater length, but then thatΓÇÖs the nature of soundtracks.
